Introduction
Thomas Memmert is the Managing Director of the Deutsche Raiffeisenverband eV (DRV) which represents the interests of cooperative-oriented companies in the German agricultural and food industry. As an important link in the food value chain, the 1,729 DRV member companies in the production, trade and processing of plant and animal products achieve a turnover of 68.0 billion euros with around 92,000 employees. Farmers, gardeners and winegrowers are the members and thus owners of the cooperatives.
