Introduction

Florentin Bercu comes from Munteni Buzau, Ialomita County, South-East Romania, where he is a small-scale farmer. A farming enthusiast since childhood, he quickly became a fervent defender of the associative and cooperative model of agriculture in his country. He is a founding member of the Agricultural Cooperative Armonia Munteni Buzau since 2021 and the executive director of UNCSV(member of the Alliance for Agriculture and Cooperation in Romania), since 2018. He is one of the strongest supporters of the participation and involvement of professional cooperative and farmer organizations from Romania in COPA-COGECA. His path in the cooperative landscape has brought him to actively participate in COPA COGECA meetings since 2013 and more recently in the CAP working parties and COGECA Praesidium since 2020.

Farm/Cooperative description

The National Branch Union of Cooperatives in the Plant Sector - U.N.C.S.V. represents and defends the interests of agricultural cooperatives in the plant sector in relations with the public administration, state authorities, other natural or legal persons, public or private, national and international bodies and equivalent international associations, in order to support and promote cooperative principles, as well as to ensure, through cooperation, the necessary services aimed at contributing to the development and modernization of means and methods to increase the economic efficiency of members and to specialize and concentrate the activity of agricultural cooperatives operating in Romania.
